Our Coaches

Michael Jiang

Michael is a 2nd degree black belt in ITF Taekwondo and is a highly energetic instructor who loves to pump up his students with loud music and his motivating voice to company it. He'll get you working hard and loving every minute of the work out. He's a National level competitor and performer with a lot to share on his well known speed and style.

Josiah Davis

Josiah is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in ITF Taekwondo.. He is the ITF National Champion and BC Champion. Having trained in multiple martial arts include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga, Kickboxing, and Martial Arts Tricking. His dedication to martial arts has been a journey of more than half of his lifetime constantly striving to improve himself to passionately pass it on to others. When you train with Josiah you are not just building a physical skill. You learn so much more and become part of a community Josiah holds dear. Josiah's extensive knowledge helps him provide expert martial arts training for the dedicated fighter and the casual athlete. He cares about all of his students and helps them crush their fitness goals while keeping every work out fun and engaging.

Sam Sidhu

Sam Sidhu 2nd degree black belt in ITF Taekwondo with experience teaching at different schools. He is easy to get along with and is very knowledgeable in his craft.

Iveta Griffith

Iveta is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in ITF Taekwondo. She is the current National Champion for ITF in Canada and competed in World Championships 2023 representing Canada. Her very kind and genuine personality makes every class with her a pleasure and something to look forward to. She'll give you subtle little hints of how to improve and also encourage you to be your best on the mats.

Are the classes beginner friendly?

Absolutely beginner friendly! We welcome all different levels to attend to hone their skills and improve their fitness.

Will there be sparring?

In Kickboxing Level 1 there will be sparring offered when the coaches think you're ready.

Do I need gloves

For your first class you can borrow gloves. After we have gloves available for purchase.

Where do classes take place?

We are grateful to be able to host our classes at Richmond Martial Arts located in Richmond, BC 150-11780 Hammersmith Way

What should I wear to the class?

Any athletic wear you have you are welcome to wear. Don't forget your water!

If you decide to continue our Taekwondo sessions long term we advise you purchase a Dobok and begin with our belt grading system to one day achieve a Black Belt!
